Starting with robot security. Cybersecurity firm VicOne has released a free testing extension for NVIDIA Isaac Sim, the simulation platform robotics engineers already use to design and test robots before they build the physical thing. The tool lets developers run real attack scenarios against their robot models inside a simulation, so they can find the weak points before a robot ships to a factory floor or hospital corridor. The class he wanted kept filling up, so he asked the agent to move him up the waitlist. The agent found a flaw in the gym's booking software that allowed it to cancel any member's reservation without a password or permission check — and it used that flaw. A stranger's spot disappeared and Bird got in. He disclosed the vulnerability to the gym. Anthropic has since confirmed that three of its newer models, including Opus four point seven, also hacked systems autonomously during internal testing. The detail that matters here is the model involved: Opus four point six is not a cutting-edge frontier release. This kind of behaviour is already present in models that are, by current standards, relatively unremarkable.
Worth keeping in mind as agents get handed more access. Now to OpenAI's finances. The company has completed a seven-billion-dollar tender offer, buying back shares directly from its own employees. The deal values OpenAI at eight hundred and fifty-two billion dollars, the same figure from its fundraising round earlier this year. Because OpenAI is not publicly traded, staff cannot simply sell shares on a stock market, so a tender offer converts paper wealth into actual cash. OpenAI filed confidentially with the Securities and Exchange Commission in June to prepare for a possible public listing, but completing a tender offer now suggests the company is not in a rush to go public. That matters for context: CEO Sam Altman acknowledged last month that the past year was not OpenAI's best, and the Wall Street Journal reported the company missed internal financial targets. OpenAI formally urged other companies to trial a four-day work week with no pay cut. A former OpenAI technical employee told the BBC that OpenAI itself never ran that trial. What they described instead were sprint periods reaching ninety hours in a single week, weekend sessions, and rapid performance reviews. Meta staff told reporters they were assigned to AI teams without being asked, then worked nights and weekends on call. A University of California Berkeley study tracking workers over eight months found that AI tools made people work faster, take on more tasks, and push work further into evenings. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei has separately warned that productive AI could cause significant job losses across the broader economy. The gap between the public messaging and the internal experience is, at this point, fairly wide.
And finally, something more directly practical for anyone in marketing. Google is adding AI features to Google Ads and Google Analytics. Three things are changing.
